Our Work

We will be announcing our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy soon. Our DEI strategy is entitled “Grand Inclusion.”

As part of this strategy, we will educate and advocate for policy changes across 160 governmental units or six counties in West Michigan. This effort is a continuation of the Clear Vision for an Inclusive Future initiative that we began before the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic caused disruptions in many lives, including ours, but we are committed to resuming our work.

We will continue our efforts to help municipalities adopt LGBTQ+ inclusive protections in housing, employment, and public accommodations. Our advocacy in Holland, alongside many activists and organizations, contributed to the city’s adoption of a nondiscrimination policy protecting the LGBTQ+ community. We aim to see similar policy changes across West Michigan, ensuring all residents are protected and included.
